Tiredness after a DVT + multiple PEs

I would like to hear other peoples experiences with tiredness after DVT and PE.. So far I feel like a granny, I need 2 naps a day if I'm listening 100% to my body..
I have heard that tiredness after blood clots can take up to a year to disappear and I'm just wondering how people can get back to work/normal life, when being constantly tired..
My GP says that she will help me get completely back to my normal shape. I'm still wondering whether I have a genetic disorder or if it was "just" because of birth-control..

Hey Anne, it is possible to have a genetic blood clot disorder and birth control just was needed to cause the DVT/PE. Have you had any genetic blood work? I have a genetic blood clot disorder (diagnosed Dec 08) and I think the cortisone treatment for my hip helped set it off? The disorder probably was lingering for years without noticeable symptoms until Feb 08.

I developed 6 PE's in both my lungs a year ago. I was in recovery for a year,
feeling like a semi invalid. SOB, chest pain and burning in my trachea, shoulders,
lungs, sleepiness( just can't ever feel "awake") sleep til noon and nap in
afternoon. Strenuous activities bring it all on. Still have the coughing, slightly
better. Still can don't walk my dog an hour like I use to, can't swim 20 laps like I
use to and dance the night away like I used to. Only 2 errands a day, using
shopping cart, as walking in stores brings on symptoms. Only light shopping 3
times a week.cant do all my housework. Pulmonary Dr. Said PE often leave scar
tissue where clots were and causes SOB & some chest pain. Bending over to tie
shoes makes me SOB. No long conversations or stress !!! PC doctor said my
lung are still inflamed, but that will take a while to heal. Drs never Found out what
caused my PE. I am still on blood thinner Xerelco 10 mg. Hope this helps
someone. Anybody out there having problems like me ???
