Any other Gay guys? Hard to ask doctor these..

So I am 37 years old and was shocked to find I had a DVT!
Thought it was a sciatic nerve thing minus the buttocks part of the pain.
So anyhow, I am a Gay man and have a few questions...
I'm being treated with lovenox injections hope to end those in a day or two and
also taking warfarin.
When my warfarin levels are therapeutic I will end the injections.

My questions are;
1. Are there any sexual side effects or lovenox & warfarin treatments?
2. Can I engage in anal sex (receiver) without fear of rectal bleeding?
3. Will I be able to continue doing my job as a Plumber while having/being
treated for DVT?

I appreciate any responses, and I'm sorry to raise this topic here, but I would
feel really awkward asking these to my doctor!

Thanks,
CK

ok..not a gay guy but here are my answers
to your questions,
1) NO I never experienced any or heard of any
2) bleeding is bleeding and on coumadin it is harder to stop so you have to be aware of this..and see a doctor if needed
3) you should be fine..you don't say where your DVT was..so I'll assume your leg(since that's the most common)...if so your leg may get tired..watch it keep it elevated when you can to prevent swelling...if it is your leg you should use the compression stockings/knee highs to help as well. Good Luck.

Hey good questions to ask.

1. Are there any sexual side effects or lovenox & warfarin treatments?
* I've found that my libedo has declined on lovenox. But that may be
from something else?
2. Can I engage in anal sex (receiver) without fear of rectal
bleeding?..
* If you don't normally bleed when having sex then sure. Generally be
aware that you will bleed more now when cut but I find that more of an
irritation than a real problem. If you don't want to involve your
doctor I'd "ease on into it" so to speak and see how it goes.

3. Will I be able to continue doing my job as a Plumber while
having/being treated for DVT?
* Probably, wear compression socks. Carry a small first aid kit with
bandages and antiseptic. you may bleed more if you get cut. Just a
thought

Enjoy
