Xarelto and nightmares

I have been on Xarelto for 3 months and every time I wake up in a panic after a terrible
dream. The nightmares started the night I started taken the tablet (day 3 in hospital) and
have happened every day since. I am not on any other medication and when I mentioned it
to my Dr said it's not listed on the "side effect list." Has anyone else had side effect?

Yes, I have the same problem. I haven't discussed it with my Dr yet. The
dreams are terrifying

Please report your side effects directly to the drug manufacturer. They would
want to know and will take you seriously. So seriously that you should be
prepared for a 30 minute phone call and maybe follow up paperwork too. Or if
you would prefer, you can report directly to the FDA. When you picked up your
prescription you should have been given information about directly reporting
side effects. This drug is so new they are aware they may not know all the side
effects, but they do want to know. They are aware that doctors do not always
report side effects -- has your doctor reported your nightmares or where you just
told it was not a known side effect.

Just because a side effect isn't listed or known by your doctor doesn't mean it is
not real. I became allergic to Ibuprofen years ago when it was still only a
prescription drug. At the time, my reaction - a rash, was not listed as a side
effect. Rashes are now considered a side effect of Ibuprofen.

I've had strange dreams and one nightmare. My nightmare was me standing down the street from the house where I grew up. In front of the house parked along side the curb was a car with me in it.. on the sidewalk was two people looking and yelling at me.

Then I watched myself put a gun to my head and pull the trigger.

That was intense.

I have been taking Xarelto for 6 weeks. Since starting the medication I have been
having terrifying, very vivid, realistic nightmares every night. I have never had
nightmares or dreams to this extent. Xarelto is the only new medication that has
been added to my daily routine in several years. Are others experiencing these
types of issues?? If the dreams continue I'm going to have to have my DR try
something else. I know that are just dreams but they are so realistic and
frightening.

My Mom has been on Xeralto, 15mg, 1 x day @ bedtime. All of a sudden I've been
getting phone calls with her in a panic because of the nightmares. She is in her 80s
and it is very frightening to her. These nightmares have set her into a state of panic
alone with depression & hours of crying spells.

I've been on Xeralto twice now. The first time was for a dvt - I had horrible dreams
every night and put up with it for 6months. The dr through it might be because of
stress.
When I went back on Xeralto 2 years later from a PE - the dreams returned and
were even worse ( waking up in panics a few times a night does make you so
tried) My dr swapped me onto apixaban (eliquis) and I feel much improved (bad
dreams have gone away). So although bad dreams aren't on the "side effect" list
of Xeralto - they are a side effect for me!

I also felt very depressed on Xerelto - I would sit there in tears some days not
knowing why, and I am a young busy person who normally has life all together so
I feel for your Mum. I hope she can maybe have a medication change?

I am on Xarelto 10mg and have been since July. For the past few weeks I have been having very vivid dreams. Not nightmares but the dreams are so vivid I would swear my eyes are open and it really is happening. I am normally a good sleeper but these dreams are waking me so I am getting less than an hours sleep at a time and wake up exhausted. I am going to report this to the manufacturer.

I have been on Xarelto since October and
have very strange, realistic dreams and
nightmares. They are to the point that I
can tell my husband about them in perfect
detail.

I have been on Xarelto for 4 months. I get intense dreams now frequently. Not nightmares, just vivid dreams. The dreams started almost immediately after I started Xarelto, but I didn't connect it with the drug. It's the only drug and I can't imagine any other reason for them.

I have aphib, doc put me on this stuff. As soon as I fall asleep I
wake up with very realistic dreams. I've been snake bit, spider bit,
stabbed, home invasion. Wow. The bad thing is, it takes about 45
seconds for my mind to sort out what is a dream and what is real. I
have insomnia to start with, this is not helping. Not fun at all.
