One new option for people who have been diagnosed with a blood clot is Thrombolysis which uses medicines and devices to remove the blood clot. While not risk free, and not offered universally, the following doctors and institutions do offer this. If you think you may be interested, it is important to act quickly. Blood clots harden within the first several weeks, making it much more difficult to remove the clot. This procedure has risks and you should discuss with your doctors the tradeoffs for your particular situation.

I'm considering getting A week off coaching and having them
retested to see if it's the cause. Otherwise, i'll have to invest
a lot on testing. Interesting research, but N=15 is not a very big
example dimension though Perhaps it's something to always consider
including in a differential research. Perhaps, more documents
should keep in mind of this as from my encounters in a medical
facility, this opportunity for raised liver organ minerals is
never followed.

Is it possible to get another dvt while on warfarin. I had my first clot about 2 months ago in my left calf, but now am having pain in my right.
I dont think it is due to using the other leg more as the pain from my original dvt has subsided a while ago.
My INR has not been stable since starting warfarin....
Any thoughts??
Thanks, take care everyone :)

Hello all, I can't get a straight answer on this. Does it really matter what time of day you take this medication as long as you take it at meal time. I understand that in the evening, when you go to bed, you have a less chance of hurting yourself. But to say that the drug wont be absorbed properly in the morning vice evening seems absurd. This is what other forums are saying with no substantial evidence to back it up. Does anyone have an answer to this. It's amazing that their are so many opinions for one drug.

I will try and word this post right without trying to go into too much detail as part of my problem involves menstruation. i am 4 months since getting my dvt's and been on warfarin for 4 weeks now. 2 weeks ago my inr was 3.2 so been taking 7mg 5 days, 8mg 2 days. blood test yesterday and my inr is down to 2.0 and been told to continue with same dose warfarin and test again in 3 weeks. Im having my monthlies at the moment and for most of the day i have been passing small bits of clot and not long ago passed a fairly big clot, sorry i know some people don't want to hear this kind of thing but i am worried as i thought being on warfarin i wouldn't clot. i don't know if i should phone the warfarin clinic tomorrow and tell them or if i am worrying about nothing. I thought on Friday night i might be developing another clot in my leg as the lower half of my calf went very red and very hot to the touch and swollen and i couldnt do anything to relieve the discomfort i was in ( the only sign ... read more

I suffer from PTS from a major clot in my leg 4 years ago. I had stents put in but still
experience daily pain. I'm on warfarin for life - 37 years old now. I go for short walks daily
which results in swelling and anything more than that has me close to tears and
physically/emotionally exhausted for the rest of the day. I've tried to build up the speed i
walk or the distance but I seem to hit a wall I can't get past. I've tried yoga (without
success) and biking but my leg goes numb when riding for more than a few minutes. Has
anyone found an exercise or exercise program that helps build muscle but is easy on the
affected leg? Anybody push past the pain and find success on the other side? I would love
to hear from someone who has gotten past this point i'm stuck at...

OK, so I'm in the OBF rivalry, and I'm as of now - 25lbs from when
we began on practically abstain from food alone. I'm around +10lbs
from where I was toward the start of school, last September, be
that as it may, at 205 I believe it's the ideal opportunity for my
first genuine incline mass. Because of finals/not having any
desire to waste pills, I have 10 days worth of Mitotropin left to
keep running, and a few days worth of REDuction PM that I will be
spending until they run

out. In this, I've arranged out a 8 week incline mass including
the nourishment driving the incline mass, preparing convention,
and supplements. On the off chance that the 8 week log is
fruitful, I will amplify it significantly more.

My husband was in the hosp for 10 days due to this. This makes the 3rd time this has happened but with this episode being the worst yet. They finally put a screen in his groin for it while he was in the hosp. My question is...I know it's going to take time for his body to heal after this, whick dr told him it may not that he may have done too much damage inside with this being the 3rd time. While in the hosp, he started complaining of nausea and even vomitted a few times. Since being home, around 2 months now, he has been complaining of extreme nausea but no vomitting. Has anyone else experience anything like this? Is this normal? We've told his dr and she doesn't seem to be concerned with it. But, I can't stand seeing him so sick. He keeps saying that his insides just don't feel right and I keep asking what he means and he just can't describe it. Someone please help.

Below the Theraputic INR?

Great site! (thanks to whomever started it) What did we do before the internet???..Recently diagnosed with DVT (total blockage of popliteal vein)...may have had something perking since last Aug (I went in complaining about severe swelling in the leg) but the cast on my leg probably pushed me over the edge and things became painfully obvious. Kept me in the hospital 7 days...Lovanox x2/day plus Coumadin (5mg?) took forever to get to a 2.1 at which point they released me. As soon as I got home fell back to a 1.8 and since my release I've not been able to get above a 2.1...for last week I've been in the 1.6-1.8 range.

Question: If they wouldn't let me walk - or release me until I was a 2+ Why no worries now when I've been below theraputic range more often than above?

Sometimes I feel like I'm in a black hole when it comes to information...My GP and hospital staff get all worked up about the DVT and then tell you "don't worry" .....Any suggestions or commiseration?

Diagnosed with PE Feb 27. Was out jogging then sprinted felt a
bad pain in left calf, thought is was just a pulled muscle. Found
out the clot traveled to my lung. Doc put me on Eliquis, developed
a throat problem which turned out to be strep throat, took a shot
of penicillin cleared it up. Then on Xaerelto, didn't agree with
me, then switched to Lovenox shots. Developed aches, shortness of
breath. Now back on Eliquis. Side effects..tired easy which never
happened previously, still short of breath, not too many aches &
pains though. Swelling in my left leg went down, so medicine must
be working. Doc told me I would be on Eliquis for life, I didn't
like that, so I went & got a second opinion, they told me only 6
mos. Got a third opinion & was told only 3 mos. NO!! I don't like
how this medication make me feel. I decided I'm going to take
myself off this poison and seek natural herbs. There are many
natural herbs to thin the blood/ reduce clots (cayenne ... read more

Periods I canít tell you how many periods I screwed myself up with
that mistake This is also true of temporary expiration An end of
the day expiration has or hours of expiration at the beginning
of dealing but less and less as the day wears on so it is
significant to keep this Binadroid in mind Expiry set from
duration of buy is much better in my opinion but selecting your
agent depending on expiration comes down to a variety of factors
not just this one This is how hour second One week day and 30
days choices set expire along with many other choices depending on
the agent Meaning that the quantity of choices expires a set time
interval of your time after the choice is .

It KILLS me to read this site and story after story of patients suffering from both acute or
chronic DVT and PTS. We (treating physicians) are trying to change that and help you all. We
have made great strides over the past couple of years but it will take continued efforts by
both doctors as well as the patients needing our help. For those with acute DVT (< 14
days), I urge you to make sure that the appropriate anticoagulation is given and close
follow-up is provided until the clot is resolved. If you are interested in helping us
determine the BEST treatment, please consider enrollment in the ATTRACT Trial. For those
suffering from chronic DVT and PTS, we at Christiana Care have also successfully treated
>200 patients with chronic DVT, even up to 13 yrs old. Yes, there is help and it can work,
maybe not for all, but for many, your quality of life can significantly improve. We should be
starting a chronic DVT trial this year that will be aimed at treating patien... read more

Side effects on both warfarin & Rivaroxiban?

Hi all. Reasonably healthy 35 year old man. Extensive bilateral clots after a
ruptured Achelles tendon. I was put on Rivaroxiban and after about 2 weeks my
GP/haemologist took me off. Strange numb headaches/lightheadedness, sternum
tenderness and nausea. A&E said Gastritis and gave me Omeprazile. Started on
Warfarin at same time as Omeprazole and gradually felt much better. Finished
Omeprazole course last week and over last few days the symptoms are back
again, albeit less so far. Anyone any experience of similar experiences on both?
Pretty frustrating as my GP says Warfarin rarely has any side effects.

53 year lold male. Not getting answers from my vascular Doctor. They won't give
me anything for pain! Why is this? I feel they are incompetent and not being
forthcoming with my future. Anyone else been thru this??? Here is my brief
summary of what happened to me...
Went to ER with severe pain in my lower calf and left foot. After several US and
CT Scan, I was told I have no blood flow to my foot. Said I have several blood
clots in my leg from top to bottom. Angio was done and after staying in hospital
for 9 days, I begged to be released. Surgeons were talking about amputation of
my leg/foot. Did not respond to several blood thinning drugs at first, but was sent
home on high doses of Coumadin and lovenox shots. That's was January 10. I
still have pain and severe redness and swelling in my foot. I can't walk correctly,
and sleeping is only a few hours at a time. My dr says we wait and see if blood
returns to my foot. I am so frustrated with the weird side effect... read more

Coumadin for life

I have had a Dvt/Pe in 2011. Now on Coumadin for life. All tests
tests and panels came back negative, so the reason for my Saddle
Clot was never known. I was testing every week, up until 2 months
ago. I nearly died from the one I had, and was in the hospital for
10 days on bed rest. Now, I am off it, from having a
Procedure..EGD). I am a little nervous seeing my INR was 1.1 today,
and Dr. usually is not the one who decides over my therapy. I always
had a larger dose of Warfarin or given Lovanox Injections. I found
to have the ATM GENE MUTATION. I Wondered if anyone else has
experienced this Unknown Origin also? I am now being watched for
cancer seeing I had this clot, and strong history of Breast Cancer.

My question is, "are there other riders here that have kept on riding while on warfarin?"
I was diagnosed with DVT(lucky for me,no PE) in july 07, was clogged from my ankle tomy groin, been on warfarin since then. I used to wear the compression socks but I had an allergic reaction to it,so the Dr. told me to stop wearing it. I just had a check-up last week(doppler test...) leg still hurts and sweeling is a daily occurance, but nothing like the original swelling. Dr. also told methat she is putting me on Warfarin for "long term" she's talking of at least a year...
For some this is a no brainer question, if you don't ride, but if you ride you will understand my querry.
It's not that easy to give up a way of living because it's not just a hobby or pass time.
If there are other riders, how do you protect yourselves from cuts or scratches (talking Crosscountry not DH). Do you wear a full armour or what...?
The Dr. does not understand me, she is telling me to simply give it up, jus... read more
