One new option for people who have been diagnosed with a blood clot is Thrombolysis which uses medicines and devices to remove the blood clot. While not risk free, and not offered universally, the following doctors and institutions do offer this. If you think you may be interested, it is important to act quickly. Blood clots harden within the first several weeks, making it much more difficult to remove the clot. This procedure has risks and you should discuss with your doctors the tradeoffs for your particular situation.

So here is my deal. Healthy 41 year old male. In Feb 2011 I was diagnosed with a DVT left leg complicated by pulmonary embolism :( (NOTE: A week before I got the clot I started feeling very sick to my stomach)...I was put on Coumidan yada yada. I stayed sick to my stomach for six freaking months...had a colonoscopy, 3 CT scans, MRI Endo-Scope and every blood test known to man. The Docs found nothing but a slightly thickened sigmoid colon. I was taken off coumidan 6 months after 1st DVT and clotted again within 30 days and again suffered a PE. (joined the blood-thinners for life club) I am now on Xarelto (Hate coumidan made me cold all the time). Still get sick to my stomach often. I think I have IBD (known to cause clots) GI doc says I don't (no bloody diarrhea). All blood tests came back clean no clotting issues. Has anyone else had a similar experience? BTW Xarelto is better the coumidan less side effects and no INR checks ever! Know of any more data about Irritable Bo... read more

Hello all, first off let me say that this site is scary as hell, but really helpful. thanks... i am 29 y.o / male / 5'9/ 170lbs and was just diagnosed with DVT yesterday and i didnt think it was as serious as it really is. 7 days ago i was returning from a 9hr flight overseas and didnt get up once to move around on the plane. my calf then began to hurt. it felt exactly like a strained calf muscle and thats what i thought it was. it hurt really bad for 5 days. on the 5th day i knew it wasnt a strained calf muscle any more and i went to the ER. they did an ultrasound on my leg from my groin to my ankle. they found a blood clot underneath my knee to the middle of my calf. it hurts like hell and hurts really bad to walk on it. they gave me 10 shots of heparin that i have to self administer as well as warfarin pills. i have to go see the coumadin clinic people to get my blood tested in two days.
The doctors didnt seem that concerned with me and didnot tell me that my condition was as s... read more

Muscle Issue or DVT?

About a week ago, my right calf cramped up hard. Two days later I felt a little soreness in the calf. Now a week later the soreness is still there. I'm a bit worried if it is indicative of a more serious issue. I have no redness, no swelling, and no heat. The pain isn't really pain, but a lingering discomfort that doesn't necessarily seem to get worse or better if I stretch or grip the calf. The pain does seem to move a bit, but originates from the back-upper-right of my calf muscle. I'm 6'3, 32 years old, 197 lbs, I've been running about 25 minutes a morning (4-5 times a week) for 2.5 months now. I'm not the most active person, but I move around and am relatively fit. I haven't really RICE'd the calf nor have I taken any Iburprofen, etc. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Any other Thrombolytics "veterans" out there

Had thrombolytic treatment 8 weeks ago for a massive saddle embolus as I had already gone into seizure and shock and it was a last ditch effort to keep me alive despite the risks, which as you may have gathered worked !

What is really hard to find is other peoples experience of life after PE and thrombolytics - unlike other clot treatments, it means that my 2nd CT scan that was performed 48 hours after showed I was completely clear of clotting, and after a week of fragmin and warfarin together, I am now just on warfarin, but am trying to find out if ongoing symptoms such as severe fatigue, memory problems, occasional short lived fevers etc are a warfarin thing or a symptom of right heart strain which was caused by the PE itself. Due to the thrombolytics, I can rule out clots as a cause. Am back at work on light duties which seems unusually quick for massive PE from what I have read and I am eternally greateful for every day I wake up, but feel a bit lonely as so few people seem ... read more

Arm constantly hurts and I have to wear a sock for the pain. I would like to work
out soon but doc said I should wait. It seems like many ofthe clots happen in
the legs but when it happens in the arm it could be even more deadly. I don't
know if I can workout like I used to.

Hi,

I have been on warfarin for a month and my INR is 2.3-2.7. I have right leg DVT, but now I am feeling like my left leg has some pain which I am not sure what the cause is.

My question is whether there is any chance of getting left leg DVT while warfarin is on theraputic level ?

Thanks.

I am returning back to work in a few weeks after being off for almost a year!!
The clots went to both lungs and I was on blood thinner for 6 months. I was
taken off blood thinner 4 months ago. I recently had a duplex Doppler and it
shows diseased subclavian vein. My vascular doctor is on vacation and left a
message that it's not an emergency. I don't know what to do - can I still go to
work with a compressed vein in my neck? As it is, I'm just nervous about going
back to work to begin with! I teach so If I have symptoms I just can't leave the
classroom. Any advice?

3rd DVT. there are days that I feel like I'm retaining so much water, and I feel
huge!! Anyone else feel this? I'll be switching to apixaban at the end of the month
and will be on this for life....anyone else taking it? And what can I expect
compared to warfarin?

I also do cross fit 4 times a week and have found it difficult to lose weight on
warfarin, shud I expect the same while on apixaban?

Hi there. I have Protein C deficiency and am on Warfarin for life. That was all well
and good until an aneurysm was found in my brain. I was planning to get it
treated, but my clotting disorder seems to complicate the risk possibility. Anyone
else out there with a clotting disorder who has had an aneurysm found? I'm trying
to make the best decision I can. Thanks!

Vitiligo twin treatment Vitiligo tablets Plus Vitiligo cream

What Causes Vitiligo?
The exact cause for the pigmentary disorder remains unknown. However,
there are theories suggesting autoimmune link, hormonal connection,
genetic tendencies, etc. Vitiligo may be an autoimmune disease. These
diseases happen when your immune system mistakenly attacks some part
of your own body. In vitiligo, the immune system may destroy the
melanocytes in the skin. The familial incidence is almost 20 to 30%.
Often observed in the family members. If the parents have Vitiligo,
there are more chances of one developing the same. However, it is not
a rule. At the same time, numerous cases of vitiligo do not have a
relevant family history of Vitiligo.

Vitiligo Tablets Treatment

Treating Vitiligo with our Anti Vitiligo Tablets requires the patient
to take regular dose of the pills until the skin is completely clear
from Vitiligo. The dose is then lowered to a level sufficient t... read more

Having developed a dvt 9 weeks ago my right leg where i had/have the dvt seems to be ok other than aching now and again. I am taking warfarin having regular blood tests and doctors and dvt clinic are happy with my progress. So why am i so stressed and anxious all the time? I constantly worry about the clot moving. Why do some of the medical pofession tell me that it would be gone by now and others say that even if i have a scan it will still be there.I am so confused by it all. Does anyone else feel like this?

Someone please give me some insight here on what I'm dealing with. I'm 18 years old and starting at the beginning of this month I began to experience chest pain/chest discomfort. I had several episodes where my chest felt as if it was beating out of my chest, tingling limbs, shortness of breath, etc. Within the course of this year I've been to the ER five times (at three different hospitals) searching for a diagnosis. Everytime I've been pushed away with the it's anxiety or indegestion speech. I typically do not feel anxious until the symptoms begin, then it's like a feeling of sudden doom. However at my second to last ER visit (about a month ago) for the first time I had an elevated d dimer value of .90. They continued further testing performing a CT scan of the chest and lungs and said I was not suffering from a pulmonary embolism and sent me home with the same anxiety speech. Ever since this elevated d dimer result I have been unable to continue my daily life, I feel rather depre... read more

Hi everyone, approx. 45 days ago I had a IVC Filter (Celect by Cook) place. After awaking from the surgery I was experiencing extreme back pain and groin pain. I was told the groin pain is common and will go away within 2 to 3 days. No one every address my back pain and I didn't even get of the hospital bed yet. Thereafter that day my groin to my hip to my back was killing me and I mean killing me where I could not walk a step and when I tried I would collapse from the extreme pain. I also had chest pain, belching, breathing problems, intestinal pain with abdominal pain. I have been bed ridden for 45 days. I can only lay flat on my back unable to move. I telephoned the IR people asap that following Monday and everyday thereafter with no response. I went to the ER 3 times not able to walk etc.. as described above and I was told to go home. I went back again for it all had gotten even worse. Than I was told I had a bulging disc. Well I had a disc bulging sine 1995. It did not bother m... read more

I got DVD 2 years ago due to a fracture in my foot. I wear the
compression stockings as I was to told to for at least 2 years. I still
get pain in my calf and have had doplar scan a bbc d seems veins all
running good. Pain possibly is post traumatic syndrome due to the damaged
vein.my calf seems swollen and more so and aching with the stockings on.
Will this ever go. I do leave stockings off occasionally when it's hot
weather. I,m always anxious it will return. Ankle also sometimes swells
and fluid which I'm to look d is all to do with the DVT. Can you advise.

Anyone have MRV - subclavian vein

Hi all - I am having severe pain in my subclavian vein and armpit/axilla. I had
bilateral PE after trauma to right arm and subsequent shoulder surgery. I have
been off warfarin 4 months now after being on it 6 months. I have been to ER
bc of pain and swelling in right arm. Ct scan shows no new PE and Doppler is
also negative for clots. Recently went to new vascular doc and she told me I
have diseased subclavian vein and will need MRV. I am so scared because have
been complaining of pain under clavicle and all docs ignored me and I might
need to go back on blood thinner. Please let me know if you have had magnetic
resonance venography and what I should expect. Thanks
